The Fred and Ruby Story

These two staffies were surrendered to ABDR in August 2016 and we put out a call for temporary foster care which unfortunately was not answered.  We paid for them to be boarded in some kennels and luckily  a wonderful lady from Victoria drove to Newcastle shortly after to adopt them and pick them up.  Here is an excerpt from the lovely adoption story.
ENJOY!

GOOD NEWS! GOOD NEWS! GOOD NEWS!
FRED AND RUBY HAVE FOUND A WONDERFUL HOME!

Fred and Ruby, our beautiful staffie pair, have found a wonderful home. Their new owner (pictured) is a lovely lady who drove all the way up to Newcastle from Victoria to pick them up. They can be together always, which is wonderful because they really love each other. They will be spoilt rotten in their new home, lazing on the couch, sharing their mum’s bed. Thank you so much Debbie for rescuing these beautiful dogs. Thank you to everyone who saw our post when Fred and Ruby were homeless and were concerned for their welfare. Celebrate with us!

The Carla Story

We put out a "help dog walker wanted" for Carla a 6 year old female Ridgeback that we had rescued. Carla was given up by her owner for euthanasia for no good reason, only that she was no longer wanted. She is a lovely natured dog, but was a very unhappy one, missing her doggie mate that she grew up with and has been torn away from. We were looking for strong dogwalkers who could take Carla for walks and help her to recover and regain her appetite (she would not eat due to sadness.  A few lovely people came and took Carla for a walk. One of those was Renae Mack and her daughter Abby seen in the included photo.

THE FIRST TIME CARLA SMILED.

Our sincere thanks to Renae Mack and Abby for coming to walk Carla this morning. Carla enjoyed it immensely, and now we’ve seen her smile! We greatly appreciate your time and effort Renae.

Buddy the Rescue Pup

Many thanks to Emma who sent us this wonderful photograph of her son, Reeve, and Buddy, the rescue dog adopted by her family. Buddy’s start in life was not good; he was in a pound, still a pup, and a very insecure and frightened little guy when he came into rescue. Emma and her family treasure him, and have given him all the love he needed to develop his confidence and feel safe in the world. He is a cherished member of the family, and really devoted to them all, especially the kids who he adores and protects. Buddy is a really special boy.

What a gorgeous photo, Emma.

FINALLY A TRULY WONDERFUL ADOPTION -

'WAGS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING' - 20 JANUARY 2018🎉

A wonderful home has been a long time coming for our beautiful boy, WAGS, but it came today and we're all overjoyed.😁😁🤣
Wags is a beautiful, gentle boy who seems to always be smiling. He is a believer in the "life is a box of chocolates" philosophy. Now a lovely family have taken him to live with them on the Central Coast; daily trips to the beach with his gorgeous sister, Izzy, who is a Shepherd X, spoilt rotten sleeping on mum and dad's bed. What more could a boy want!

WAG'S NEW LIFE ON THE CENTRAL COAST
THE PERFECT DOG WITH THE PERFECT FAMILY

Wags is having a wonderful time in his new home.
When he's not chewing his favourite treats or snoozing,
he has a permanent smile on his face.
The 3 new girls in his life love him to bits.
His big sister Izzy is also a rescue dog and
they have a typical female/male relationship.
He follows his Mum Simone and her daughter Lilly
everywhere, always wanting to 'touch' with his paw.
He is most certainly living the life of luxury, sleeping on the bed and couch, playing, swImming in the pool, plus walks and swimming at the beach.
The 'Big Goofball' is one super happy boy these days.
Thank You Simone and Lily.
Have a wonderful life WAGS! WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!
